Comedic Heist Movies
Crime Capers Gone Absurd
These movies all trip an ordinary person into a criminal machine and then refuse to let the danger cancel out the jokes: a bank clerk, a greeting card writer, a chef, a salesman, or a teenage runaway gets pulled into kidnapping, murder, or hitmen, and the resulting chaos plays as both genuinely threatening and genuinely funny at once. Paranoia and mistaken identity do a lot of the work, with small groups trapped together (a jail, an estate, a party) turning suspicion into farce. The through-line isn't just crime plus comedy, it's escalation -- one bad decision or one wrong encounter snowballing until moral lines blur and nobody, including the audience, is sure how seriously to take the body count.
