Outcasts and Misfits
Marginalized Outsiders
These are people the world has already written off — ex-cons, refugees, the mentally fractured, the physically other — trying to prove they still belong to it. The stories keep returning to the same tense hinge: a fragile bond (with a stranger, a child, a dog, a town) that offers the one shot at redemption or connection before the past, the system, or the self drags them back down. Even the comedies and fables here carry that same undertow of exile and quiet dignity fighting to be seen.
