Zombies And Gore
This is less about zombies specifically than about bodies pushed past the point of dignity — decaying, mummified, reanimated, or mutilated — and the wildly different tones filmmakers use to cope with that image, from gallows comedy (A Cadaver Christmas, Burying the Ex, Bloody Chainsaw Girl) to genuine dread (Frontier(s), Welcome to the Jungle, Against the Dark) to something stranger and more mournful underneath the carnage (Godzilla Minus One, Kissed, The Taking of Deborah Logan). What links them is a willingness to sit inside grotesque, often gory scenarios and treat them as spaces for humor, survival, or philosophical unease rather than just shock.
